A Family Home Since
Hotel Vila Tina opened in 1998 as a family idea, and it has stayed one ever since. The name comes from Martina's childhood nickname, "Tina" — a small detail that says everything about how personal this place still is.
It was founded by Jakov Šalov and his wife Jadranka, and their hand is in almost everything here, right down to the lion's head that still watches over the entrance today. The lion wasn't an accident — Jakov and Jadranka chose it together as the hotel's mark, echoed in stone by the statue guarding the front steps.

That same sense of family runs through the people who work here. Every member of staff has been with Vila Tina for fifteen years or more. Regulars are recognized by name, not by a booking number — whether you're passing through Zagreb for a single night or bringing a football squad for a week, the same faces will be here to greet you.
Vila Tina is an adults-only hotel by design (16+, with exceptions made case by case) — a quiet, considered space, run the way a family runs their own home when they open the door to guests.
However far you've traveled to get here, someone's already expecting you — that's what home feels like. Martina's the one who opens the door, and by the time she's settled you in, it already feels like you know the place. Arrive late and Goran gives you that same welcome, wide awake just to let you in. Mornings are Zare's — coffee and breakfast on the table, like someone looking out for you before you even ask. And if a shirt needs washing or ironing before a meeting, just ask and Marica sorts it, simple as that.
